the third in this accidental series, this piece is apart of a larger collection that has been unfolding over the past couple of weeks. “what is dead, must die again,” feels like a debut and a homecoming.

i see what i was looking for

i see what has been here the whole time

i see me

wild woman

wild and beautiful

i see all my mistakes

and all my perfections

where i’ve loved and

where i’ve been loved

i see the bark on the trees standing tall

branches swaying with the breeze

where birds have made their nests

and squirrels have found their rest

ever bump, ridge and dent

i see it all

i see them all

i see me

music harmonizing

my love

my life

how i love

how i life

what a symphony

what an ache

from the floor of my soul

who has yearned to be here

full and round

too much

too loud

and plenty proud

smile big

laughter high

head held high

a spirit that wouldn’t

give up

even-

even when she tried.

i see what i was looking for

and what’s been here from the start

i see me

and when i see me

i see art
