space cowgirl

june 05, 2025

it’s a benediction y’all, the last installment of “what is dead, must die again.” i loved this idea, i loved writing this collection. thank you for reading and sharing this homecoming with me.

i lassoed the moon

and now i

live in her

she does not belong to me

i belong to her, lovers

we belong to each other

accountable, to each other.

i lassoed the moon

with the ease and the delicateness

that of a kangaroo

i did not lasso the moon

the moon whispered to the sea

and the sea whispered to me

the moon lassoed me

drifted me here

drifted me there

and with the kindest caress

delivered me to my dream

my dream so sweet

my sweetest success

i did not lasso the moon

but i whispered

in every corner of my heart

with every tear fallen free down my face

i whispered a dream of love

a love so kind

a love to quench my heart

and-

and to settle my mind

there is nothing left to desire

and no need to cry

yes i dreamed a dream

and a dream t’was mine
